Incompetence or Willful assault...
Trial proceedings for sex assault by a Boulder man are on hold while attorneys await a trial competency review. The accused is Andrew Lamar who sexually assaulted a high school student. Bruce Langer said that Lamar raised the issue of his sanity, and therefore his competency to stand trial. The trial was postponed until July. Lamar also faces trial on a separate sexual assault charge. County prosecutor Langer expressed that whether Lamar was able to understand the proceedings against him and whether he could sufficiently aid in his own defense. In the first case, Lamar is accused of assaulting an 18-year-old high school student in March 2005.
