The destiny of the mother rests in the hands of eight men and four women, who spent Thursday afternoon deliberating whether the Hutchinson woman crossed the line between discipline and child abuse. Wilson faces two counts of child abuse for supposedly locking her 12-year-old stepdaughter and 15-year-old stepson in tiny rooms for extended periods of time between 2003 and 2005. The state further contends that Wilson denied the children proper nutrition and living materials. A jury convicted Wilson's husband, Rodney, of identical charges in January. The defense claims the Wilsons locked the rooms only for a few hours per night out of fears the two children...
